GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP CALON PENGANTIN MENGENAI PREMARITAL SCREENING HIV
Abstract
The number of HIV cases is still high in West Java, especially Bandung Regency, which is a problem that requires special attention. Given, one way of transmission of HIV is caused by sexual intercourse. Therefore, married couples are at risk for HIV transmission. With so many HIV cases, it is necessary to expect in the form of premarital HIV screening. Premarital screening is a way to diagnose and prevent disease transmission to partners or their offspring. The implementation of HIV premarital screening will run well if it is supported by good knowledge and attitudes from the community. Therefore, researchers are interested in knowing the description of the knowledge and attitudes of the bride and groom about premarital screening HIV. The type of research was quantitative with a descriptive study. The research sample was prospective brides who meet the inclusion requirements, namely living in the area around the research location and willing to be respondents, registering their marriage in August-October 202, and their first marriage. The sample size required was 50 people taking the sample using the probability sampling technique. The data collected will be processed using the Excel program. The results showed that the bride and groom's knowledge regarding premarital HIV screening was mostly good (n=27;54%). Meanwhile, the description of the attitude of the bride and groom regarding the presence of premarital screening HIV was very good (n=24;48%). So it can be concluded that the knowledge and attitudes of the prospective bride and groom are good and it is possible to carry out a premarital HIV screening program. However, it still needs to be done. As well as the role of the government and health workers to socialize this program so that it is more widespread and widely known and carried out by the community.
