KAJIAN HARDINESS KELUARGA SEBAGAI CAREGIVER PADA PASIEN GAGAL JANTUNG
Abstract
Heart failure was the focus of problems in the world of health. Management of heart failure is long-term, causing burden for family caregiver. Psychological burden is the burden that is most felt. Hardiness or character of resilience helps individuals overcome these burdensome problems. Individuals with higher levels of hardiness tend to provide optimal nursing care to patients. The study aimed to identify family hardiness as caregivers for heart failure patients at the Sumedang Regional Hospital polyclinic. This research was conducted in May 2024 with a quantitative descriptive research design using purposive sampling techniques with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The population in this study were family caregivers accompanying the care of heart failure patients at the heart polyclinic of Sumedang District Hospital, with a total of 140 people and a sample of 103 people. The instrument used is Family Hardiness Index questionnaire with a Likert scale which has been tested for validity and reliability. The research results found that almost the majority of family caregivers had a moderate level of hardiness, 71 respondents (68.9%), basically family caregivers were able to stand the challenges they experienced but were unable to face the burden they experienced optimally. This can have an impact on the quality of assistance and care provided by family caregivers to heart failure patients. There is a need to develop nursing care interventions that focus on the family to support the family's readiness to face the burdens or problems of becoming a caregiver.
