EFEKTIVITAS “BREAST MILK COOKIES®” TERHADAP PENINGKATAN VOLUME ASI IBU POSTPARTUM
Abstract
During lactation, the mother's energy and nutrient requirements are greater than when she was pregnant. Nutrition and diet are crucial in enhancing optimal dairy production. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of “Breast Milk Cookies” in boosting the volume of breast milk in postpartum mothers.The type of research was experimental quarantine with a two group pretest-posttest design approach, a total of 114 samples of postpartum mothers consisting of 57 intervention groups and 57 control groups. The research was conducted at RSIA Puri Adhya Paramita on 19 February–19 April 2024. Sampling using nonprobability sampling. Examine respondent characteristics using descriptive statistics. Bivariate analysis was conducted using the Mann-Whitney test, independent samples test, Wilcoxon test, and effectiveness assessment with Gain scores. The Mann-Whitney U test results at pretest showed a p-value of 0.167 (>0.05), indicating no significant difference in breast milk volume at the pretest stage. However, the Wilcoxon test at pretest revealed a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating that “Breast Milk Cookies” effectively increased breast milk volume in postpartum mothers.The results of the effectiveness test in the group given “Breast Milk Cookies” obtained a Gain score of 86.49%, while in the Group given cookies on the market obtaining Gain scores of 80.89%, which means both group included in the category effective. In conclusion, giving “Breast Milk Cookies” increases the volume of postpartum breast milk more than giving cookies on the market in RSIA Puri Adhya Paramita Lampung Middle 2024.
