Abstract

Health development as part of the whole human development effort, among others, is carried out through child health efforts that are carried out as early as possible since the child is still in the womb until the first five years of his life. The number of children under five in Indonesia is very large, which is around 10% of the entire population, so they are candidates for the nation's next generation. Comprehensive and quality developmental guidance for children is carried out through stimulation activities, early detection and intervention of deviations in growth and development of toddlers carried out during the "Critical Period". Doing adequate stimulation means stimulating the toddler's brain so that the development of movement, speech and language skills, socialization and independence in toddlers takes place optimally according to the child's age. Stimulation activities, early detection and intervention of developmental deviations under five in a comprehensive and coordinated manner are carried out in the form of partnerships between families, communities and professionals. One of the stages in the growth and development of the little one that is most awaited by parents is the ability to walk, the process so that the baby can walk on his own requires the baby's physical, mental, spirit and courage abilities supported by learning to walk stimulation aids that will be used by parents and children. the support of the surrounding environment. The purpose of this study was to design a walking stimulation device to improve walking ability for children aged 9-15 months in the city of Tasikmalaya. The method used is a research and development (R & D) approach. The results of the study were obtained a design of walking aids for children aged 9-15 months.
