Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has hampered the treatment program for glaucoma sufferers. Glaucoma is an important eye health problem because it is the second leading cause of blindness worldwide after cataracts, but it can be controlled to prevent blindness depending on the patient's adherence to treatment. This study aimed to determine the description of glaucoma patient control compliance during the Corona Virus Disease-19 pandemic at the Bali Mandara Eye Hospital. The research method was a descriptive study with a sample of 169 glaucoma patients controlled at the Bali Mandara Eye Hospital with a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by a descriptive statistical test. The results of the study were obtained from 169 respondents. Most glaucoma patients during the Corona Virus Disease-19 pandemic had good control compliance, namely 124 people (73.4%). Adherence to glaucoma treatment is recommended to avoid progressive vision loss. The success of therapy in glaucoma patients to prevent blindness depends on the patient's adherence to routine treatment while still implementing health protocols. Glaucoma Patient Comeback Compliance for reevaluation during the Corona Virus Disease-19 Pandemic Period at the Bali Mandara Eye Hospital from 169 respondents, most of them were good, namely 124 people (73.4%). Researchers are advised to develop further research by analyzing factors that affect treatment adherence in glaucoma patients, such as attitudes, motivation, perceptions, and beliefs.
