PEMBERIAN MINUMAN YOGA (YOGHURT BUAH NAGA) DAN SUSU LOW FAT TERHADAP PENURUNAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL
Abstract
Cardiovascular disease tends to increase as a cause of death. One of the risk factors for cardiovascular disease is hypercholesterolemia which is caused by disorders of fat metabolism which is characterized by an increase in total cholesterol levels to>200 mg/dl. Efforts to control cholesterol levels through diet management are a safer therapy than drug therapy. To find out the difference between giving yoga drinks (dragon fruit yoghurt) and low-fat milk on reducing total cholesterol levels in Sriwijaya RSU employees. This type of research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. The design used in this research was pre and post-test with two groups. The treatment group received 100ml of yoga drink twice/day for 14 days, while the comparison group received 100ml of low-fat milk drink once/day for 14 days. The sample size in this study was 30 respondents for the treatment group and 30 respondents for the comparison, so the total sample was 60 respondents. Sample collection was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. Analysis of this data uses an dependent t-test (dependent t-test). The results of statistical tests (dependent t-test) with p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), the average reduction in total cholesterol levels in the treatment group and control group was 17.8 mg/dL, which shows that there is an effect of giving Yoga drinks ( dragon fruit yoghurt) on reducing total cholesterol levels. Yoga drink (dragon fruit yoghurt) which has anthocyanin levels of 4.88 mg/kg and fiber of 1.00% can reduce total cholesterol levels in employees at RSU Sriwijaya.
