DUKUNGAN KELUARGA YANG KURANG BAIK DAPAT MENYEBABKAN DEPRESI PADA LANJUT USIA

Abstract

The survey results obtained by various countries of the world average prevalence of depression in the elderly was 13.5%. Bogor city health department data (2009) shows a population of 34,599 elderly people and 6431 of them fostered through posbindu and Elderly emotional disorders such as 544 people. This study aimed to determine the relationship of family support with depression in Pamoyanan village al southern city of Bogar. The methodology that used is cross-sectional study with 164 samples of the peoples. Sampling technique was using purposive random sampling. The result showed a significant association between family support with the incidence of depression (p = 0.007 and POR = 2.816). family support that seen from a kind of support attitude, the highest relative to bring out depression is the informational support with value POR = 0,443 of 95% Cl: (0,210 - 0,934). Result: the most of people that who have depression is elderly women, age 65 years old, have no job, not school or school level until elementary school and didn't have a cronic disease. The worst family support related to depression of elderly people. Family support from the highest relative attitude to bring out depression is informational support.
