FOOD LOSS, FOOD WASTE: PELUANG, TANTANGAN, DAN ANCAMAN DALAM PENCEGAHAN STUNTING DI INDONESIA: LITERATURE REVIEW
Abstract
Food loss, food waste, poverty and stunting are issues that are currently of special concern worldwide, as the impact of the problem is complex, namely, economic, environmental, and social. The study aimed to analyze opportunities, challenges, and threats in reducing the impact of food loss, food waste, poverty and stunting in Indonesia. The method used in this research was meta-analysis, which is based on the results of studies from various literature. The data collection technique used by researchers to obtain published articles is using data bases from google scholar, publish or ferish, mendeley, google book, PubMed. The results obtained explain that poverty is strongly linked to low household incomes, so families cannot afford to buy or provide nutritious food, both in terms of quality and quantity. This is the situation of poverty that is a challenge and a threat in stunting prevention. Behind the challenge, there are opportunities, that is, efforts to prevent and minimize food loss and waste in society. Through intervention in the form of education and policymaking about food loss and waste in society, society is capable of managing existing resources, capable of coping with problems, and able to find solutions to the problem of stunting through several stages, namely the stage of awareness and formation of behavior, stage of transformation of ability and competence, and stage of enrichment/intellectual capacity. Conclusions of prevention and management of food loss and waste well, then can reduce the environmental, economic, and social impacts, including poverty and stunting figures in Indonesia.
