Abstract
Funeral home X is one of the places used for mourning activities in Bandung City. The activities that take place at funeral home X involve many people, so health control must be considered to prevent the spread of disease from solid and liquid medical waste produced. The purpose of this study is to determine the handling of solid and liquid medical waste at funeral home X. This study used a descriptive research design with observation methods to observe the condition of the funeral home, as well as a survey method with research equipped with values or numerical results of observations. The results of the study at the funeral home showed that there was a body washing activity that produced solid medical waste with an average daily amount of 1,41 kg and liquid medical waste with a volume of 200 liters/body washing. Funeral home X has not fully implemented proper waste management, with 75% not meeting the requirements for solid medical waste handling, and 50% not meeting the requirements for liquid medical waste handling. Funeral home X is recommended to carry out the handling of solid and liquid medical waste in accordance with applicable regulations, such as providing plastic bags with colors tailored to the characteristics of the waste for storage, installing B3 waste warning labels, separating the temporary waste storage and temporary storage tanks between medical waste and domestic waste, and immediately completing B3 waste handling permits to carry out proper waste management.
