APRESIASI TUBUH DAN KEBIASAAN MAKAN PADA MAHASISWA KEPERAWATAN

Abstract

Based on Riskesdas data in 2018 on the age group above 18 years in Sumedang Regency,there are problems with underweight nutrition (9.16%), overweight (11.41%), and obesity (23.61%). In addition, there is a fairly high prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes mellitus (1.77%) and hypertension (15.35%). These show the existence of unhealthy eating habits in the community. This research aims to identify the relationship between age, gender and appreciation of the body with students' eating habits. The research method is a descriptive survey with a cross-sectional research design. Respondents were taken by purposive sampling that consist of 78 students  undergraduate  Nursing study program  at the UPI Sumedang campus. Body appreciation was measured byusing the Body Appreciation Scale-2 questionnaire. Eating habits were calculated by using the Adolescent Food Habits Checklist questionnaire. Data was analyzed using Chi- square test. The results show that almost all students are 78.2% female and 76.9% aged 19-22 years. Most of them have a satisfied body appreciation of 55.1% and 57.7% of unhealthy eating habits. There is a relationship between body appreciation and eating habits (p = 0.047). Satisfied body appreciation has 2.87 times chance to have healthy eating habits. Students are expected to maintain or increase body appreciation through a positive perspective and practice healthy eating habits
