PENGARUH PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN MENGGUNAKAN FLIPBOOK TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN TENTANG MENARCHE PADA REMAJA PUTRI
Abstract
Every adolescent girls who will experience menarche (first menstruation) is usually followed by feelings of anxiety, confusion, and discomfort. Insufficient knowledge about menstruation can cause long-term reproductive health problems, such as reproductive tract infections, menstrual disorders, and even infertility, and make adolescent girls unprepared to face menstruation. Flipbook is a medium that can help adolescent girls to increase their knowledge in facing menarche. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education using flipbooks on knowledge about facing menarche in adolescent girls. This research was a type of quantitative research using a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design without control. The research sample was 63 adolescent girls who were calculated using a quasi-experimental design formula. Sampling was taken using a stratified random sampling technique. This is an intervention research that treats health education using a flipbook. Use of questionnaires to measure pre and post-test knowledge. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results of research using the Wilcoxon test prove that there was an effect of health education using flipbooks on knowledge about facing menarche among adolescent girls in Bandung City (p-value 0.001) so that flipbooks can be used as an alternative media to provide health education about menarche.
