STABILITAS POOLED SERA DENGAN PENAMBAHAN PROPILEN GLIKOL, ETILEN GLIKOL DAN NATRIUM AZIDA SEBAGAI BAHAN KONTROL ALTERNATIF

Laboratory quality control can be carried out internally, called Internal Quality Assurance (PMI) or internal QC, and what is carried out externally is called External Quality Assurance (PME). Internal quality is strengthened by measuring the accuracy and accuracy of results using control materials. Control materials that can be made by yourself using a collection of serum left over from the examination which is then processed and stored in a refrigerator with a temperature of -15 to -20°C are called pooled sera. This study aims to determine the stability of pooled sera with the addition of 15% propylene glycol, 15% ethylene glycol, and 1% sodium azide stored at -15°C to - 20°C. In this study, the examination was carried out every 3 days. The data collected is primary data obtained by examining the creatinine levels, total protein, albumin, and blood glucose. Data were analyzed using the General Linear Model (GLM) statistical test. The research will be carried out in 2022 at the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, Bandung Health Polytechnic. This study showed that the using of propylene glycol and ethylene glycol as alternative serum control agents stabilized the parameters of creatinine, total protein, and blood glucose, but could not stabilize albumin levels. The use of sodium azide preservative as an alternative serum control agent can stabilize the parameters of total protein, albumin, blood glucose, and creatinine.
