PENGARUH KADAR HB IBU MENYUSUI DENGAN TINGKAT KECUKUPAN ASI BAYI USIA 2 MINGGU DI KABUPATEN KARAWANG

Abstract

Anemia in postpartum mothers occurs due to acute bleeding during childbirth. It can have an impact on breastfeeding disorders. The incidence of anemia in breastfeeding mothers will reduce milk production, the quality and quantity of breast milk, and the fulfillment of the needs of infants aged 0-6 months. This study aimed to determine the effect of Hb levels in breastfeeding mothers on the adequacy of breast milk in infants aged two weeks in Karawang District. The type of research used is observational analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The total of respondents are 61 with the Non-Probability Sampling technique by purposive sampling. The instruments used to measure the adequacy of breast milk are questionnaires and baby weight scales. Data analysis included univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression tests with risk factor models. The results of the Univariate study showed that the adequacy of breastfeeding in postpartum mothers was in the sufficient category, 32 respondents (52.5%), and the hemoglobin level in postpartum mothers was classified as not anemic 39 respondents (63.9%). The Bivariate analysis found a significant relationship between Hb levels and the level of adequacy of breast milk with p = 0.032. Multivariate results concluded that the levels of Hb could affect the level of anemia. A mother who didn’t experience anemia had a low (insufficient) risk of anemia of 2,227 which means that a mother who didn’t experience anemia was a protective factor against the level of anemia.
